
What does Becklyn Do?
The Becklyn organisation administers ALL functions, including the establishment of a new OSHC or BASC Centre, on behalf of a Parent Management Committee or other recognised sponsoring entity.
It is actually easier to state what we DON’T do as there are only four main items we recommend be carried out by other members of the Centre. They are:
- We do not sign cheques or release funds in any way
- We do not write the minutes for the Committee meetings
- We do not do the initial receipting of cash received at the Centre
- We do not prepare the children’s activities programs
Administrative functions
Attendance records and fees:
- Record all child attendances by day and session
- Provide sign on / off sheets for all sessions
- Calculate fees including CCB rebates for all parents
- Collection of fees under the Committees guidelines
Wages and Superannuation:
- Collect and record all necessary data to calculate staff wages
- Monitor, report and action changes to various awards
- Calculation and payment of superannuation
- Group Certificate preparation and control
Centrelink / Family Assistance Office:
- Monitor, record and action CCB rebate details
- Child Care benefit downloads
- Handle Child Care rebate issues
- Jet funding and Grand parent CCB
- SUPS reconciliation and control
- Making preparations for CCMS arrival
Business functions:
- Banking of fees
- Creditor / suppliers cheque preparation and payment
- Preparation of profit and loss, balance sheet information
- Audit preparation and documentation
- Draft and final budget preparation
- Business activity statements preparation and action
- Insurance and worker compensation
- Monitor and action cash flow issues
- Computer and all IT support
- Staffing and personnel issues
- Active After Care reconciliation and control
- Secure storage of long term documentation
